Happy New Year! We are pleased to announce that StraboSpot2 is now available for phones and other small screens.
With this release, StraboSpot2 is now available in both the Google Play store and the Apple app store for all mobile devices. StraboSpot 2 for phones has the same functionality as StraboSpot2 for tablets but now it fits in your pocket!
With StraboSpot2 on phones you can:
Take photos, notes, measurements, and more in the field without the need for a large device.
Use StraboSpot in classes without having to acquire 15+ tablets.
Show students they have all the tools to make maps and collect geologic data already in their hands.
Have a backup for your workflow incase your tablet battery dies unexpectedly.
Have StraboSpot with you where ever you go!
If you have been working in the old StraboSpot mobile app on your phone we highly suggest trying out StraboSpot 2. Datasets and projects started in the old StraboSpot mobile app are completely compatible with the StraboSpot2 app. To move an active project from the old StraboSpot app to StraboSpot2, upload your project to the StraboSpot server and then open project from server.
StraboSpot2 functionality is also available in your web browser
The web browser version of StraboSpot2 is also now available. To access StraboSpot 2 in your web browser go to the My Data page of Accounts on StraboSpot.org. Then select Open with Strabo2 Web on the project you would like to work with. StraboSpot2 on the web allows you to add and/or edit data from your computer using the same workflow as the mobile devices. Use StraboSpot2 on the web to provide more information to projects that have been saved to the StraboSpot server from a mobile device or start new projects from your web browser.
We look forward to sharing more updates and features with you in 2024!
